Case Closed!
Sadly, perhaps predictably, I got a call the day before the trial was to start, excusing me from Jury duty. I was, I am sure, audibly bummed out. I was looking forward to the change of scenery and new experiences that the time in court would have provided. The person who called me didn't provide any details about why the trial had been canceled. Perhaps some plea agreement, perhaps some other delay which requires them to choose a new jury. Perhaps the accused escaped custody and has fled across the border to Spokane. Oh well, maybe next time....
